Mediterranean Cuisine: Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Turkey and Morocco mostly signify the regions of Mediterranean. The culinary preparation of these countries is renowned for some of the most delicious recipes in the world. Even as Mediterranean regions strike up beautiful images of sun soaked sandy beaches and lovely villages with sun-drenched olive groves it also has a food market that is filled with an array of fresh fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices.  Throughout the Mediterranean, there is a passion for food and cooking, and eating plays an important part in day to day lives. Mediterranean cuisine is characterized by its flexibility, its range of ingredients and its many regional variations. Mediterranean’s are famed for the healthiness of their diet which is rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains, and contains adequate amounts of oily fish, nuts, seeds, legumes, dairy products, lean meat or its substitutes. Saturated fat, salt and sugar intake is generally limited, and processed and refined foods are more or less off the menu. Olive oil, the primary source of fat in the Mediterranean diet, is an excellent source of monounsaturated fatty acids that help to lower cholesterol.  In short Mediterranean diet is the template for a healthy immune-boosting diet and is known to promote a healthy heart and longevity.
